Within a week of learning about the medical complication, the camp allegedly demoted Reed to assistant registrar and cited her medical condition in writing as the predominant reason, according to the EEOC's lawsuit, filed Thursday in federal court in Houston. When Reed returned to work after maternity leave, she was named an assistant in the finance department, another subordinate position, according to the lawsuit. EEOC contends that the camp's lawsuits against Reed, 42, were in retaliation for exercising her rights to complain about discriminatory treatment.
